What is the difference between breast augmentation, reduction and lift?

Breast augmentation aims to increase insufficient volume, and implants or, in suitable patients, fat grafting may be considered. Breast reduction removes excess breast tissue and skin and can also address functional complaints such as shoulder and neck pain, bra strap marks and difficulty in daily life. A breast lift mainly repositions sagging tissue; not every lift requires an increase or decrease in volume. In some patients these procedures can be planned together. The decision takes into account breast measurements, skin elasticity, the position of the nipple, asymmetry, plans for pregnancy and breastfeeding, smoking and general health. Breast imaging appropriate to your age and personal risk factors may be requested. The location of the scars, the recovery time and the possible effects on sensation and breastfeeding should be discussed openly during the consultation. The most suitable method is determined by a plastic surgery examination, not by a photograph or a general measurement.
